Paul Revere told the minutemen that the British regulars were coming by sea to fight them in Concord by shining 2 lanterns on the steeple of The Old North Church and yelling "The British are coming". The consequences were that Paul was stopped by British regulars and questioned at gun point and released in the morning but was slowed down resulting in less minutemen knowing the British regulars were coming and putting his life and many others at risk. I think Paul did the right thing because he helped save many lives while putting his own greatly at risk and by doing that he helped us greatly in getting the 13 colonies and America.

ReplyDeleteAbigail Adams, born on November 11th, 1744, was famous for being the wife of the 2nd president of the United States, John Adams. She was also the mother of John Quincy Adams who became the 6th US president in 1830. Her letters to her husband during the Continental Congresses are remembered for their advice on various matters. These letters are used as eyewitness reports of the American Revolutionary War. Here is a small part of a letter :''I wish you would ever write me a Letter half as long as I write you; and tell me if you may where your Fleet are gone? What sort of Defence Virginia can make against our common Enemy? Whether it is so situated as to make an able Defence? Are not the Gentry Lords and the common people vassals, are they not like the uncivilized Natives Britain represents us to be? I hope their Riffle Men who have shown themselves very savage and even Blood thirsty; are not a specimen of the Generality of the people.'' Abigail Adams was a great help to the american revolution because she wrote helpful letters to John Adams, a important man to help,
Thaddeus Kosciusko was a citizen hero by trying to make the world a better place and standing up for what he believes in. An example of how he helped was by helping the American patriots in their struggle for independence during the Revolutionary war. He was also in the army but decided to become a citizen and stand up for what he believes in. However he did have some consequences trying to make everybody to the right thing he got in a lot of fights and was threatened to be thrown in jail for a long time.

ReplyDeleteGreat Britain and the American Colonies had problems with each other. In the mid-1760's the British passed laws to increase it's control over the colonies. The American's did not like those laws at all.
They did do the right thing because the American Revolution was an example to people in other lands who later got their freedom.
British soldiers and American's started fighting in Lexington, Massachusetts, at the nearby concord.
Someone who is a very powerful citizen hero was Martin Luther King Jr. because he was fighting for a better future for himself and other African Americans. King gave many speeches and other people fighting with him, such as, Rosa Parks suffered conquenses like being put in jail. Martin Luther King Jr. paid the ultimate price becuase a man who did not agree with Martin's opinion assasinated him. Even still, Kings remarks made a huge influence on African Americans future. And this is why I think Martin Luther King Jr. did the right thing. He stood up for what he believed in even though it would mean risking everything.
ReplyDeleteBrigadier General Henry Knox - first US secretary of war 1750-1806. Member of the Boston grenadier corps, volunteer in the battle of bunker hill (breeds hill) served under General Ward. Knox was in charge of colonials around Boston. He placed canon in dorchester heights. He was a citizen hero because he risked his life for Colonist's rights, he did the right thing because he stood up for what he believed in. The consequences of that was he inspired many people he also got an award of placing the canon in dorchester heights.
ReplyDeletePaul Revere is a citizen hero. He warned Bosten about the Redcoats (also known as the Britsh army) and with his help, the Americans won the battle.
