The moon glows because it reflects the light from the sun. The author noted that the part of the moon facing the sun is lit up. Part of the moon facing away from the sun is not glowing because their is no sun to reflect on. that's why the moon glows.

Why does the moon glow?
ReplyDeleteThe moon glows because one side of the moon is facing the sun and the other side of the moon is not. When one side on the moon is facing the sun, the sun will put a reflection on that side. As Mandy Barrow states on the website, primaryhomeworkhelp.com, the moon is illuminated because the sun reflects on the moon making it glow. On the other side, it will be completely dark getting no reflection of the sun.

Did you know that the moon doesn't light up by its self? Well the reason for that is that the Moon reflects light from the sun I know this because on facts about the Moon it tells you that fact. The reason we can see the Moon at night time is because the sun shines light through the Moon to the Earth so we can see it. The moon changes shapes so the sun reflects of the Moon in one direction but, the reason we see the Moon in different shapes is because we are rotating.

For many people the moon seems to be glowing,that is because of the light from the sun reflects off the moon and creates an illusion that makes it seem to be glowing. The part of the moon facing the sun is lit up.The part of the moon that is facing away from the sun is in darkness. To prove it here is something that you can try: Get a small ball, one that you can hold in one hand. Turn off the lights and shine a flashlight on one side of the ball. One side will be dark and one side will be lit up.

In school last year i learned a lot about the moon but one thing i didn't know was the how the moon lit up. ReplyDeleteI read that the moon is illuminated because it reflects the light from the sun. If we are on the side of the earth that is facing the moon, we can see the sun's reflected light. On primaryhomeworkhelp.com I read that the part facing away from the sun is in darkness. In the day the moon is not visible because the sun is facing us and the moons not reflecting light on us.

The author states that the moon glows because the sun reflects off the surface of the moon. The part that the sun reflects on also affects what phase the moon is in. If the sun shines on the moon more (when the earth isn't in the way), you "see" more of the moon, and vice versa.

The research i have done is what the moon is. so the moon is a planet that comes up after the sun goes down. So i learned the phases of the moon. First in the moon phase is a new moon wich eventually will go to the Waxing Crescent, then the First Quarter, after that the Waxing Gibbous, then goes the Full it takes about 30 earth days to complete that cycle. By the way according to www.primaryhomeworkhelp.com i read that the people by the equator see the crescent moon shaped like a smile

I read on moon phases that the moon is lighted by the sun. Also part of the moon that is facing the sun will be the part that is light up. The part of the that is facing away from the sun is the part is going to be dark.

The author of the website at the bottom taught me that the moon glows because it reflects light from the sun. I know this because I read all of that information on the website listed below. The side of the moon facing the sun is lit up and the other side is darkness. This happens because the moon is at a certain angle from the sun which makes one side dark and one side light. I know that because the author noted the part of the moon that is facing the sun's light causes the moon to be illuminated. I also learned that the part facing away from the sun is in darkness. According to the author, The phases of the Moon depend on its position in relation to the Sun and Earth. As the Moon makes its way around the Earth, we see the bright parts of the Moon's surface at different angles. These are called "phases" of the Moon.

The moon has a way of glowing this is why. The moon glows because the light from the sun reflects onto it. ReplyDeleteIt is very cool that our moon can glow, making a small amount of light in a otherwise almost completely dark solar system. When the moon is a new moon, the only lights in the night sky are the stars. I read that the moon is illuminated because it reflects the light of the sun. The lit part of the moon is always facing the sun, while the darker side is facing away from it. Light and dark also causes the moons phases, if the moon is a waning crescent, a small part to the right of the moon is lit up. This is because the sun is facing slightly towards the right side of the moon. It would be the same with any phase of the moon, whichever place the sun is shining on is what's visible and bright. All in all the sun plays a very important role in making the moon glow.

There are eight phases of the moon. Here are are two of my favorites. The New moon is like a invisible moon that you cant see from earth. My personal favorite is the Waxing . it looks like a parentheses mark. It takes the moon twenty eight days for the moon to go through its eight phases.

I read on the website that the bright part of the moon is the part that is facing the sun. The other side of the world cant see the moon because the sun is up and it is day. So the time here could be night and the otherside of the world could be day.
