I think that cacao is pronaced. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tt3X-WnWGcc like this because it has ao and that there is A next to the O and that sound like ow so that is why it sound like that. And in the video the guy had an ascent . In different languages it sound different. P.S. Pran helped me with this
